Data visualization

Objective

The visualization tool is what will allow you to visualize and analyze the data you are getting from your different systems. In this tutorial, we will show you how to use it

Opening the visualization tool

The visualization tool is accessible when viewing a detail page of one of your active system.

From the Active systems page click on the system you wish to see the data by clicking the Check details button on the right of the system table. Once the battery page is opened, search for the Battery box. Click on ... and then Visualization tool

Properties panel

The properties panel is situated on the left of the screen and will be useful to customize the graph display.

Graph

The Graph tab will allow you to turn plots display On or Off in order to only show the data you want to see.

Plot display

In order to hide or show a plot, you can click on the eye icon situated on the left.

Trace style

You can open the Inspector panel by clicking on any sensor

This will open the Inspector. When interacting with a sensor, the inspector allow the update of the style for the selected sensors

Display

  • Opacity: Change the transparency of the current plot.
  • Line: Display the line.
  • Marker: Adds a marker on individual plot data points

Line

  • Width: Change the width of the plot line
  • Color: Change the colour of the plot line
  • Type: Change the type of the plot line (plain, dotted, dashed, ...)

Marker

  • Color: Change the colour of the plot line
  • Opacity: Change the transparency of the plot data marker
  • Size: Change the size of the plot data marker.
  • Symbol: Change the symbol used as a marker
  • Border width: Width of the marker border
  • Border colour: Change the colour of the marker's border
  • Max displayed point: Changes the maximum number of point displayed at any given time.

The navigation tool is situated on the top right corner of the graph visualization tool

  • Download plot as png: Allow you to download an image of the current view
  • Zoom: Allow you to zoom on a section of the graph by using a drag and drop gesture

  • Pan: Allow you to move the graph in the direction you want by using a drag and drop gesture

  • Box Select: Allow you to select a set of marker
  • Lasso Select: Allow you to select a set of markers with a free hand tool
  • Zoom in: Zoom in by a fixed amount at the centre of the graph
  • Zoom out: Zoom out by a fixed amount at the centre of the graph
  • Autoscale: Scaled the plot to fit the whole display area
  • Reset axes: revert back to the default graph axes (7 last days)
  • Show the closest data on hover: Adds a data label to the graph near where your mouse is
  • Compare data on hover: Adds a data label on all the graphs near where your mouse is

Advanced shortcuts

  • X Axis Zoom You can perform an X-Axis zoom by clicking on your mouse wheel and performing a drag and drop on the left or right*
